Traprock Ridge Work Parties
We invite you to join our friendly group of dedicated conservationists in helping to maintain trails, remove invasive species, and plant native vegetation.
Late July through mid-October is prime time to work on invasive species. Our invasive plant workdays provide hands-on experience clearing invasive plants and help us in the effort to replace invasives with native species in our community. You will learn what plants are invasive to our area and how to treat them to hinder further growth.
It’s a good idea to wear long pants, long sleeves, socks, sturdy shoes, work gloves, bug spray, and sunscreen. Bring water to drink, and loppers and hand saws, if you have them.

Standing Work Parties – Saturdays 9:30-11:30 am
July 25, 2026: Eastfield Farms, East Granby
The sides of the path at Eastfield Farms need to be beaten back so the steward can get the mower through there without getting torn up. If you like multiflora rose, Eastfield Farms is the property for you! Bring loppers and wear leather gloves. You can explore the 1/4-mile loop trail around pond when we are finished.
Park at the end of the cul-de-sac on Wintergreen Lane.
Past Work Parties:
July 18: Pond Meadow, East Granby
We will be pulling and bagging Japanese knotweed, which has already been drastically knocked back by pulling and bagging it for the last 4 years. It’s amazing how many other plants have moved in where it was all knotweed before.
Parking is next to 8 Pond Lane (near the bench).
