LaSalette Trail

Project Description

The LaSalette Trail is a 3-mile corridor trail that connects Penwood State Park with the center of Bloomfield. It passes through park and farmland that is home to a great variety of wildlife and some notable trees and commands beautiful views of the City of Hartford to the south, the Holyoke Range to the north, and Talcott Ridge to the west.

The trail runs from Filley Park in Bloomfield center to LaSalette Park through Mountain View Cemetery and currently along town roads. Entering LaSalette from the recent Anthony’s Way subdivision, the trail follows portions of the white trail to the historic Oliver Filley house and then on to TRLC’s Hawk Hill Farm. From there the current temporary route proceeds north on Duncaster Road to Stone Hill Road, and then west to the end of Stone Hill Road where it enters the TRLC’s Stout Family Fields and follows a mowed path up to Penwood Park.

It is hoped that the LaSalette Trail will ultimately connect with the East Coast Greenway in Bloomfield.
