Lisa Lane Farm

Description
One block from Cottage Grove Road in Bloomfield’s most densely populated neighborhood sits Lisa Lane Farm, 10 acres which has been farmed continuously since the 1930’s. It is owned by the town of Bloomfield with an easement from the Wintonbury Land Trust.

The farm now provides callaloo, Scotch bonnet peppers, and other vegetables to the predominantly West Indian neighborhood.

A diverse group of neighbors tend 12 organic community garden plots aided by the well installed in 2016.

Walking trails around the perimeter of the farm fields and the greenhouse respect and showcase food production. Lisa Lane Farm is a focal point for food, nutrition, and health education.
